Junior Software Engineer - Fullstack

As a Junior Fullstask Software Engineer, you will be working closely with our engineers to implement and extend the different parts of our application stack, creating and maintaining new products and experiences for our customers.

• Write and debug code using best practices - follow industry standards, develop unit tests, participate in code reviews, etc.
• Troubleshoot software issues
• Work with engineers across the company to build new features and products
• Attend developer and/or scrum meetings
• Actively participate in collaboration with design, giving thoughtful input on technical approaches and/or alternatives to improve our product’s functionality
• Participate in meetings and workgroups to acquire and maintain necessary levels of knowledge relating to business developments, industry requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines
• Notify management of obstacles, equipment, or operating challenges that require additional support or supplies

Technical skills

• Knowledge of JavaScript / Typescript, CSS, HTML, functional programming, and front-end languages
• Knowledge of backend application frameworks and libraries, such as Node.js
• Knowledge of type checking, unit testing, prop types, and code debugging
• Basic understanding of database design/architecture (PostgreSQL)
• Basic understanding of application architecture and data flows
• Understanding of asynchronous development and object-oriented design and patterns

Non-Technical skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate strategy
• Good interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to write clean, well-documented code that follows good coding practices
• Ability to provide in-depth evaluation of multiple technical directions and determine tradeoffs of each
